2nd Annual Pat Tillman Leadership Summit
July 10-12
University of Maryland (College Park, Maryland)
Tillman Military Scholars, Pat Tillman Foundation staff, board members and University Partner contacts from throughout the country united at the 2nd Annual Pat Tillman Leadership Summit in Baltimore-Washington, D.C. this summer.
The 2nd Annual Pat Tillman Leadership Summit was a three day gathering hosted to build and strengthen the Tillman Community, teach leadership and job skills to the Tillman Military Scholars, make a sustainable impact through service in a local community and to increase awareness of the limited educational resources available to military families today.
The Summit also provided the opportunity for Scholars to meet each other in person for the first time and to share their military and educational experiences. During the event, Scholars actively participated in leadership, job skill and advocacy workshops focused on addressing challenges associated with the transition from military to campus and civilian life. Additional activities included a day of service in partnership with Baltimore-area nonprofits and the opportunity for each Tillman Military Scholar to meet with his or her Congressional representative on Capitol Hill and share a personal account of the limitation of policies and resources available to active and veteran servicemembers and their families on college campuses across the U.S.
