On Tuesday, the Pat Tillman Foundation staff was welcomed to Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona by the 56th Security Forces Squadron. During the visit, staff members toured the entire base, first visiting the memorial of the “Fallen Defenders” and speaking with active duty airmen about their service.

Next was a visit to the indoor shooting range, and after a presentation on safety guidelines, PTF staff members were offered the opportunity to fire the weapons.

After the range, staff members were escorted to the K-9 facility and learned about the history of the K-9 units on and off base. There, 56th Security Forces members demonstrated methods of non-lethal force with the K-9, Taser and baton. Director of Programs Hunter I Riley volunteered to be tasered while the other Pat Tillman Foundation members participated in exercises with firing the tasers and practicing self-defense with batons.

To close the day at Luke AFB, the crew headed out to the flight line to take a closer look at the F-16 jets.

Thanks to the 56th Security Forces Squadron and Luke Air Force Base for their hospitality.
