A credentialed teacher in two states, Tara DeBraber started volunteering with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society to put her passion for educating to use in a unique way to help servicemembers and their families. Combining her educational background with her passion and commitment to the military community, Tara is now pursuing a new career goal – the military and veteran social work program at the University of Southern California.
As an active participant in the local military community, it is easy to see where this mother of one and wife of an active duty Marine found her commitment to military social work.
Upon completion of the program, Tara hopes to positively impact the military community by providing essential services to active and veteran servicemembers and their families. In addition to this, Tara also strives to advocate for more comprehensive legislation regarding post traumatic stress disorder as well as other combat related disorders for the benefit of active duty personnel and veterans.
