Growing up with a parent who is a veteran, Susan aspired to be a pilot in the Navy, just like her father. Although she still loves to fly, her life course has evolved into her own separate and authentic desire to serve. The service of her father is the inspiration for her desire to work in foreign service. Because of his dedication to protecting the freedom of the United States, he inspired Susan to pursue a career which embodies that same purpose.
As a junior German and international studies major at Texas A&M University, Susan is active in the Student Government Association, International Student Mentoring Association and a Christian sorority called Sigma Phi Lambda. Being part of these organizations has greatly strengthened her passion for representing and serving others. Susan intends to take these passions and use them to serve people through a career in foreign service, with the dream of working for the CIA or U.S. Department of State.
To better prepare herself for this career path, she will be living the entire 2010-2011 school year in Munich, Germany. While there Susan will be completing an internship and studying at Ludwig Maximillians Universität.
