Specialist Lucas Finch

After serving two tours in Iraq, the first with the cavalry in the 2003 invasion and the second in 2005, Specialist Lucas Finch’s most recent role has been as a college student at the University of Arkansas.

Lucas is currently taking accounting and finance courses and will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in May 2010. As an undergrad, Lucas has worked alongside his local congressman in Little Rock to ensure that veterans are not forgotten. He is determined to ensure that veterans are accepted in society and receive the social and health benefits they deserve.

In addition to his work in veteran’s affairs, Lucas also studies the Chinese language and culture. He has studied Chinese traditions through the Chinese Language and Culture Club on camps and he cherishes the opportunity to share his perspectives and positive outlooks on the similarities and differences in both American and Chinese cultures.

Along with his studies, Lucas enjoys the thrill of outdoor activities such as sailing and kayaking, and spending quality time with family. After graduation, he hopes to dedicate his life assisting veterans, fulfilling his motto to “carry the utmost vigilance to see that our nation’s veterans are not forgotten.”
