Knowing that Specialist Jeremy Glasstetter is an honorably discharged, eight year, U.S. Army and combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, is knowing only the start of his story.
In the time since he exited federal service, he has helped to build a campus based veteran’s service organization, Student Veterans of America, as his campus chapter president, the Michigan state director and SVA’s national director of outreach. To add, Jeremy has successfully lobbied the Michigan State Senate, in particular in October 2009, by supporting MI H.R. 4447, which provides returning military veterans with greater visibility, transitional services and enhanced faculty training on college campuses across the state. To cap all of that off, he has had the opportunity to speak with and advocate for his fellow veterans to several elected leaders in Washington, D.C.
Currently living in Flint with his fiancé and newborn son, Jeremy has accomplished all of this while maintaining a high academic standard and with an attitude that places his fellow veterans first.
