Specialist Alecia DiSilvester

A single mother of a 16 year old son and a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Specialist Alecia DiSilvester joined the Army after graduating from high school and became a field medic and emergency medical technician. While serving in Stuttgart, Germany, her ambulance company was called up for service in Saudia Arabia and Iraq for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, during which she served with the 1st Cavalry Division from Ft. Hood, Texas, and earned several honors.

To continue her service to others, Alecia has found a passion in educating children with disabilities and special needs. She is currently enrolled at Cleveland State University completing her bachelor’s degree as a mild/moderate intervention specialist. Upon graduating, she will become the first person in her family to earn a college degree. With a current interest and participation in the community, she hopes to strengthen the ties between schools and the community to provide and encourage students to be successful.
