Joel Dixon is a patriot born of a military lineage that includes his father’s honorable service in the Army during the Vietnam War and his grandfather’s service in the European theater during World War II. His pride and love for country crystallized during his oath of enlistment into the U.S. Marine Corps following his decision at age nine to become a Marine.
Joel went on to work as a communications specialist at a 9-1-1 center following his honorable and decorated service as an air traffic controller in the Marines. He transferred his passion for emergency management to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. where he serves as a life-safety and security system design manager and as a business continuity planner.
Joel is enrolled at the University of Arkansas, College of Engineering to complete a Master’s degree in Operations Management. The maturation of his operations management education in combination with his relevant work experience is a key milestone for Joel in reaching his career goal of forming and operating a nonprofit organization focused on providing disaster recovery services to special needs populations.
