Petty Officer Third Class Nathan Buckley

As a former Navy Hospital Corpsman, who served four years with a front line Marine Corps infantry unit, Petty Officer Third Class Nathan Buckley had an experience which would impact the decisions he would make later in life.

During his stint with the Marine Corps, Nathan was stationed with the Second Marine Division, the same unit his grandfather served with in World War II. During an unfortunate event, Nathan suffered an injury which resulted in an involuntary separation from active duty and a lifelong disability.

With an enduring desire to continue his service in the medical community, Nathan has enrolled at Cleveland State University and is working towards his Bachelor of Science in health science. After receiving his degree, he will further his education at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s cardiovascular perfusion therapy program. After his training there is complete, Nathan intends to serve his community by using his knowledge of the cardiovascular system to teach the life saving technique of C.P.R.
