Petty Officer Second Class Kevin Gallagher

Petty Officer Second Class Kevin Gallagher and his parents moved from Ireland to America on July 4, 2003, a very important day in more ways than one. Shortly thereafter, Kevin began his senior year of high school and after just four months in the United States, he signed up for the delayed entry program with the U.S. Navy.

Kevin served as an aviation ordnanceman second class on the USS Kitty Hawk, based out of Atsugi, Japan. The military taught Kevin what it truly means to be an American and be filled with a sense of honor, joy, pride and sorrow.

Kevin just completed his bachelor’s of arts in criminology and sociology from Cleveland State University and is pursuing his master’s of arts in global political interactions. Currently, he is president of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and the vice president of the student veterans club at Cleveland State. In this role, he enjoys organizing fundraising efforts and participating in community service projects for various nonprofits.

Kevin hopes to gain employment with a federal government agency upon graduation and work with returning veterans.
