Petty Officer Second Class Gregory Trujillo has always wanted to help. In his home town of San Diego, he has served as a missionary assistant, a children’s tutor, a supporter of the American Veterans Association and a volunteer after a fire disaster.
But what he really sees the need for – in his community and in the military –is spiritual guidance. As a counselor, Greg did not have the education he needed to help spiritually and so with the support of his commander returned to school to obtain a Master’s degree in divinity to become a chaplain.
When he completes his studies, Greg hopes to provide comfort and support as a nondenominational religious leader to men and women in all branches of the military. He would also like to counsel servicemembers through any rough personal and economic times they may be facing.
