While some girls are dreaming about their wedding day, Patricia Carter is envisioning the moment she graduates from Air Force Pilot Training as a commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and earns the right to climb into the cockpit of a United States aircraft. From that day forward, she will be able to give back to not only her community, but to the worldwide effort that assisted her family’s rehabilitation after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina.
After surviving the storm, Patricia realized she was given an opportunity that many people were not as fortunate to receive. She promised to take the gift of life and use it to her utmost ability; to assist people all over the globe that are enduring similar challenges. This is her motivation for pursuing her education and obtaining her commission.
Her parents’ selfless service and dedication to the U.S. Air Force has inspired Patricia to follow closely in their footsteps – combining her experiences and education to join the humanitarian efforts of the U.S. military.
