Lieutenant Chris Sergeant always knew he would serve, but his definition of service has changed over the last three decades. The oldest of four children, Chris decided in seventh grade that he would attend the United States Naval Academy. After graduation he volunteered for and served eight years in the submarine force because he sought technical and mental challenges and discovered the power in the community inherent aboard a ship under the sea.
Yearning for something even bigger, he was fortunate enough to be accepted in the Wharton School of Business, where he volunteers his time tutoring fellow veterans working towards their Bachelor’s degree and to local small business owners struggling with the complexities inherent in their businesses.
It was in these capacities that Chris discovered his true passion: helping solve complex issues that exist in the communities he is a part of. His Naval experience allowed Chris to see the power of a global footprint, and his passion for community fuels his vision of empowering and connecting other communities to the global one.
