Kelly Christensen is the oldest of three and daughter of Navy pilot and squadron commander Robert Christensen. Her father passed away in 1992 while serving on active duty when Kelly was just seven years old. Despite the short time she had with him, her father’s service to country and dedication to the Navy created an example of dedication and integrity that continues to be an inspiration.
In 2007, Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and Asian studies afterward working for two years as a field archeologist in Florida. Now, with a desire to broaden her areas of expertise, she is pursuing a Master of Science in historic preservation at the University of Oregon.
With a combined understanding of above and below ground historic resources, Kelly hopes to preserve the unique cultural heritage of her country, especially in local communities, which are often forgotten and lost.
