Janyth Grimes, Army Dependent

Having witnessed her father’s service both as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army Reserve and as an Alabama State Trooper and her mother’s service as a nurse, Janyth Grimes knew that she was destined for a life of service to others.

What that service would be, however, did not become apparent until her father, Sergeant First Class Gregory Todd Grimes, returned from his first stint of active duty diagnosed with severe hearing loss causing the Grimes family to go though some major changes. During this time, Janyth decided upon a career of service working with the hearing impaired. She is currently studying signing interpretation at Troy University and will be the first person in her family to earn a college degree.
