Elizabeth Church, Navy Spouse

A widow of a Navy Seabee who was an Iraq war veteran, Elizabeth Church is a single mother, registered nurse and full time graduate student. Her husband’s tragic death opened her eyes to Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) among military servicemembers and led to her to desire to help other veterans.

After 13 years as an ICU nurse, Elizabeth’s world changed the moment her husband died. She was a completely different person and needed a new focus and so decided to return to school to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and honor her husband’s memory by helping servicemembers and their loved ones cope with PTS and suicide – using her life experiences and education to relate and provide guidance and support.

It has only been two years since her husband’s death, but Elizabeth’s strength and determination is allowing her to plan for the future again. She is dedicated to helping veterans receive the best healthcare possible and is once again excited about what lies ahead.
