Captain Justin Jangraw earned his Bachelor’s degree in international politics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Army as an infantry officer and completed Parachutist, Air Assault and Ranger schools.
Justin’s first assignment was as an infantry platoon leader in South Korea. After Korea, Justin was reassigned to Germany where he deployed twice to Iraq. During his first deployment he served as the “mayor” for a small forward operating base outside of Baghdad and on his second deployment he was selected to act as the Director of Logistics for an infantry task force.
In 2007, Justin left the military and travelled extensively throughout the U.S. and Central America. During his travels, he owned and operated a café in Costa Rica. Since returning to the U.S., he has worked as a government procurement counselor and project manager for the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition – a nonprofit industry group. In this role, Justin has helped companies throughout the Pacific Northwest become better positioned to do work with the U.S. government.
Justin is working towards earning his Executive MBA from the University of Oregon. He plans to better his knowledge of business to help bridge the gap between private industry and the military. Justin currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, daughter and their two dogs.
