Captain Brett Gibson

September 11, 2001 was a formative event for our world and Captain Brett Gibson’s life. With a passion always towards service, 9/11 made him realize how important it was to direct that passion to the military. And so in 2001, he decided to become an Army Ranger.

Another influence in making this decision was Brett’s grandfather, a colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. When Brett had his Ranger tab pinned on at Fort Benning, his grandfather was there. When he returned from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, his grandfather was the first one on the parade field waiting for him.

With military service fulfilled, Brett’s next big goal is completing two years at Harvard Business School, where he is currently giving back and leading with vigor for public service as his class president. Post-MBA, Brett hopes to return to his home state of Virginia and start a business that speeds technology transfer from the private sector to the Army and DOD with a long term aim to serve his community as an elected public servant.
