Pat Tillman Foundation and ASU prepare for second year of Leadership Through Action™ Initiative

Tempe, AZ (Apr. 4, 2006) – The Pat Tillman Foundation and Arizona State University (ASU) are geared up and ready for the second year of the Leadership Through Action™ Initiative.

The foundation partnered with ASU, Tillman's alma mater, to create the Leadership Through Action™ Initiative at the university's W. P. Carey School of Business. The two-semester program, which supports the foundation's mission of creating responsible, ethical, action-oriented leaders, will begin its second year this fall.

Students selected for the program will participate in a collaborative setting with faculty and invited community and business leaders to study leadership techniques, develop leadership skills and apply their learning to create projects that will benefit communities.

A selection committee comprised of ASU and foundation staff members, along with community leaders, will interview prospective students and select 15 to be the 2006-2007 Tillman's Scholars. Students selected to participate in the initiative are scheduled to be announced April 15 at Pat's Run in Tempe.

Students interested in participating in the Leadership Through Action™ Initiative can receive an application through the W. P. Carey School of Business Web site at www.wpcarey.asu.edu/lta
