If I am not able to run the race once I register, may I request a refund of my entry fee?

Entry fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable. No exceptions. This means once we have received your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, and you may not give or sell to another person.

For the safety of all participants, the following are prohibited: bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards, and all motor-driven vehicles. Walkman/iPod-type headphones should be set on low - be aware of your surroundings and fellow participants. Wheelchairs are welcome and finish on the field with all other competitors.

Where will I pick up my race bib and timing chip?

Also available race morning at thePackard Drive Registration Desk, 5:00am to 6:30am.Packets include your shirt, race bib, timing chip and last minute instructions as well as information from sponsors. They may be picked up for participants by other people; we encourage this for teams and groups.

Packets can ONLY be mailed to people who are NOT participating in the race and registered as T-Shirt only / Shadow Runners. (this registration fee included an extra $5 shipping fee). These will be mailed out Monday, April 12, 2010.

We are sorry, but due to the very large number of participants, we CANNOT mail packets to those participating in the race. Race t-shirts must be picked up by the time of the race. Also, if you need to exchange your size, you can do so when you pick up your packet, we cannot exchange sizes after the race. Please note that we make every effort to accommodate participant shirt sizes. It is, however, first come, first served. Thank you for your understanding.

Can someone else pick up my race bib for me?

Yes, provided that they have your name and birth date. They will need to sign a waiver stating that they picked up your packet.

Is Pat's Run Timed?

State of the art ChronoTrack systems will be used to record participants' times at the start and at the finish. The ChronoTrack system uses a UHF RFID disposable tag, called a D Tag, which allows you to walk away from the finish without the need to have your tag collected.

The ChronoTrack timing tag (D Tag) will be attached to your race bib. The D Tag will be labeled with a number that matches your race number. When you pick up your race bib, please make sure these numbers match, and also verify that YOUR name is printed on the bib you are issued. Proceed to the Solutions Table if any of the information is incorrect. Prior to the race, you must remove the tag from your bib and attach it to your shoe. Please follow the instructions provided in your registration packet. PLEASE NOTE: All participants must wear the ChronoTrack timing tag on your shoe in order to have their times recorded. Race Results will be posted at www.patsrun.com by 4:00 pm April 17, 2010.

What is a Wave Start?

In order to alleviate congestion at the start, along the course, and at the finish there will be a rolling wave start to begin this year's race. Participants will be staged in corrals based on their anticipated per-mile pace at the start and will be released at pre-determined intervals (approximately every 20-30 seconds) in order to enhance the overall participant experience. Each corral will hold approximately 1,000 participants. Race participants will be invited to enter their corral at 6:30am.

Where should I park?

Limited free parking is available in Packard Drive South Parking Garage (east of Sun Devil Stadium); at Stadium Garage off veteran's Way (across from the Wells Fargo Arena); and on the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway. Due to race day congestion it is strongly encouraged that participants carpool, walk, bike or use Light Rail to get to the start area.

Avoid race day traffic and take the Valley METRO Light Rail to Pat's Run. The light rail has a stop located at Veterans Way and College Avenue (1/2 mile from the race start line). Trains run every 15 minutes between 5am and 11pm and one-way tickets are available for $1.75 at all stations. Valley METRO representatives will be at Packet Pickup to provide more information on how to best utilize light rail on race day. You may also ride your bike as a great pre-race warm up. There will be a fence set up near the start line where you may lock your bike.
