The annual Roberto Clemente award recognizes the player who best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual’s contribution to his team. A majority of Byrnes’ community work benefits the Pat Tillman Foundation.
This Saturday, September 12, Byrnes and his family will kick off the 5:10pm game against the Milwaukee Brewers with a presentation of $7,500 donation to the Pat Tillman Foundation from Chevrolet.
Tillman Military Scholar Cameron Waites from University of Michigan-Flint will be present to accept the donation on behalf of the Foundation.
